Request for Proposal for Logo and Visual Identity Project

Project Overview

Tsartlip First Nation is seeking proposals from qualified Indigenous artists, designers, creative teams, or contractors to develop a new logo and visual identity that reflects the W̱JOȽEȽP identity, culture, governance, values, and connection to the land and waters. The project will create a meaningful and versatile visual identity for use across governance, administration, communications, digital platforms, publications, events, and signage. While the primary focus is logo and brand identity development, the design may also be adapted for physical applications such as carved displays, signage, and branded environments.

Scope of Work (Requirements)

The selected proponent will be responsible for delivering a complete visual identity package, including:

Discovery & Cultural Engagement

  • Project kickoff and planning sessions
  • Consultation with Tsartlip representatives
  • Understanding cultural values, governance, and visual preferences
  • Review of intended logo applications and cultural protocols

Logo & Visual Identity Development

  • Initial logo concepts
  • Refined logo design
  • Colour palette development
  • Typography recommendations
  • Full-colour and black-and-white logo versions
  • Simplified logo for small-format use
  • Horizontal and vertical logo variations
  • Written design rationale

Optional Physical Applications

  • Signage concepts
  • Carved logo applications
  • Display panels
  • Printed materials
  • Branded templates
  • Window decals
  • Other physical implementations connected to the visual identity

Junior Artist Mentorship

  • Mentor junior or emerging Indigenous artists
  • Provide opportunities for research, sketching, digital preparation, and production
  • Include mentorship approach, supervision, time commitment, and budget allocation within the proposal

Final Deliverables

  • Vector files (AI, EPS, SVG)
  • High-resolution PNG and JPG files
  • Transparent logo files
  • Logo usage guide
  • Colour specifications
  • Font recommendations
  • Written design rationale
  • Any approved physical or applied design components
