Project Overview
Northumberland Humane Society (NHS), a nonprofit animal welfare organization in Ontario, is seeking a qualified web design/development partner to build a modern, accessible, campaign-ready website. The new platform will support its 60th anniversary, increase animal adoptions, strengthen donor engagement, and help launch a planned $4 million capital campaign for a new animal care facility. The site is expected to be live by late August 2026.
Scope of Work (Requirements)
Selected vendor will be expected to deliver a full website redesign and implementation including:
- Modern website strategy, sitemap, UX/UI design, and wireframes
- Mobile-first responsive website
- User-friendly CMS so staff can manage content internally
- Strong adoption journey with visible “Adopt” CTAs
- Animal profiles with PetPoint integration
- Donation functionality integrated with CanadaHelps
- CRM / marketing integrations with DonorPerfect and MailChimp
- Dedicated sections for programs, services, thrift store, volunteering, and corporate giving
- SEO optimization targeting pet adoption and local rescue terms
- AODA / WCAG 2.1 AA accessibility compliance
- SSL and PCI compliance
- Data migration from current website
- Redirect mapping
- Google Analytics and conversion tracking
- Staff training, manuals, and brand guide
- Testing, launch support, and post-launch support plan

Budget
