Project Overview
The City of Summerside, Prince Edward Island, is seeking a qualified web design and development firm to redesign and rebuild its main municipal website. The goal is to create a modern, clean, accessible, mobile-friendly website that makes it easier for residents, businesses, and visitors to find information and access City services.
The project includes a new site architecture, improved navigation and content structure, updated CMS functionality, refreshed page templates, and breaking-news and emergency-alert capabilities for situations such as power outages, fires, service disruptions, and other public safety notices.

Website Design & Development
- Redesign and rebuild the City’s main website.
- Create a clean, modern and user-friendly digital experience.
- Improve usability across desktop, tablet and mobile devices.

- Provide practical content management capabilities for City staff.
- Ensure the platform supports ongoing content updates and management.
Breaking News & Emergency Alerts
A key requirement is the ability to publish breaking news and emergency alerts directly on the front page.
The City is also interested in recommendations for optional:
- Resident email alerts
- Text/SMS alerts
These could be used for urgent situations including:
- Power outages
- Fires
- Service disruptions
- Public safety notices
