Request for Proposal for Design and Hosting of the New Solutions Website

Project Overview

The New Solutions Social Innovation Hub, a national initiative supporting social innovation across Ireland, is seeking a qualified vendor to design, develop, and host a new website that will act as the central digital platform for social innovation in the country.

The platform will serve as a hub where social innovators, nonprofits, policymakers, researchers, and the public can explore resources, discover funding and support services, and showcase innovative projects addressing social and environmental challenges.

The new website will replace a placeholder site and deliver a modern, accessible, and interactive experience that highlights the ecosystem of social innovation initiatives across Ireland.

Scope of Work (Requirements)

The selected vendor will provide end-to-end website design, development, and hosting services, including:

Website Design & Development

  • Full redesign and development of the New Solutions website
  • Modern, intuitive user interface with strong calls to action
  • Fully responsive design across desktop, tablet, and mobile devices
  • CMS allowing internal staff to update and manage content independently
  • Compliance with GDPR and accessibility standards (WCAG 2.1)

  • Map of Ireland displaying social innovation initiatives
  • Location markers linking to project information pages
  • Search and filtering by sector, theme, or location

Social Innovation Curve Assessment Tool

  • Interactive self-assessment tool helping innovators determine their stage of development
  • Visual representation of their progress on the “Social Innovation Curve”
  • Guidance on next steps and available resources

Searchable Database of Social Innovation Supports

  • Database of funding programs, training, advisory services, and incubators
  • Filtering by support type, geographic region, and stage of development
  • Integration with the assessment tool to recommend relevant supports

The platform must also support bilingual functionality (English and Irish) with full feature parity between languages.

Budget

The project budget is €10,000 – €15,000 (inclusive of VAT) for the design, development, and hosting of the website.
