Project Overview

The Charter Township of Brighton, Michigan is seeking a qualified Managed Service Provider (MSP) to deliver comprehensive IT managed services across Township facilities. The engagement is structured as a multi-year partnership, beginning in 2026 with renewal options through 2028, and is intended to support day-to-day IT operations while guiding long-term technology planning, security, and infrastructure modernization.

The Township operates three connected facilities and relies primarily on Microsoft technologies. The selected provider will act as a strategic IT partner, not just a helpdesk vendor.

Scope of Work (Requirements)

The selected vendor will provide a turnkey managed services solution covering:

Service Desk Support

  • End-user support via phone and email
  • Defined SLAs, issue escalation, and monthly reporting

Network Infrastructure Monitoring & Administration

  • 24×7×365 monitoring of switches, firewalls, VPNs, and wireless networks
  • Cisco-certified network administration and security oversight

Server & Database Administration

  • Administration of Microsoft Windows servers, Active Directory, Office 365
  • SQL Server management, monitoring, optimization, and backups
  • Support for on-prem and potential cloud environments (Azure/AWS)

Backup as a Service

  • Full and incremental backups with six-month retention
  • Regular backup testing and remediation

Desktop as a Service

  • Workstation imaging, patching, antivirus, deployment, and lifecycle support
  • Level 1 and Level 2 desktop troubleshooting

Security & Compliance

  • Annual security assessments, vulnerability testing, and penetration testing
  • Incident response, policy reviews, MFA, and system hardening

Professional Services

  • On-site and remote support for projects, migrations, documentation, and planned maintenance
